A cry for help

San José Home has been open for more than seventy years, and it’s located in the old quarter of Ciudadela. Currently, the non-profit organization “Mensajeros de la Paz” is in charge of the administration. There are forty elder women living in the place, women of limited resources, and in a situation of abandonment and loneliness. To continue our work, we have to ask for the solidarity of institutions, companies and neighbours of Ciudadela because, due to the current situation, it is very complicated to maintain this project throughout time.

These elder women are assisted in an integral way, receiving clothes, food, medicine, cleaning service, medical attention, workshops, recreational outings, etcetera.

Also, in 2005, we carried out important reforms to floors, bedroom ceilings, sewers, the construction of an emergency ramp, etcetera. This year, we intend to continue with new projects, such as installing a new elevator and painting the inside and outside of the building.

Due to the difficult economical and social situation, we ask for the help of relatives (in case they had any), and of anyone who can cooperate with us, just like they’ve been doing, such as the municipality of 3 de febrero, Eva Perón Foundation, Hospital Carrillo, Cáritas (Charity), the Chamber of Commerce and industry of 3 de Febrero, Genaro and Andrés de Stefano S.A, Benvenutti Brothers, Doña Noly, the Rotary Clubs of Ciudadela, the Retired people’s club Timsa, and so many countless neighbours of Ciudadela.

That is why we ask you to help these elder women, in any way you can.
